Over thirty eight applicants\u00a0today collected their Certificate of Occupancy under the Oyo State Home Howners Charter scheme OYHOC at the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development.<\/p>\n

This is in line with the State Government\u2019s\u00a0 \u00a0promise of issuing out OYHOC, C of O within\u00a060 days.<\/p>\n

The Commissioner for Lands,\u00a0Housing and Urban Development, Barrister Aboodun Abdu-Raheem while presenting the certificates to beneficiaries, said the collection of the new C of O is within sixty days from the date of submission of application form.<\/p>\n

He maintained that Oyo State is working towards making it possible within thirty days.<\/p>\n

‘As you all can see, Oyo State Government under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde is a Government that keep to it’s words. We promised 60 days and here we are your\u00a0Certificate of Occupancy is ready within the period we promised. We even have some that were ready within 40 days. We are walking tirelessly to ensure that the Certificate of Occupancy is collected even within 30 days’, he said.<\/p>\n

The Lands Helmnsman also noted that certificates of occupancy can be used to access other opportunities that abound in the economy.<\/p>\n

‘This C of O has the same feature as the Conventional one. It can be used for any financial transaction. It is recognized all over the country and with the bar code on it, you can verify it authenticity anywhere in the world. This is why it is called Electronic C of O,\u00a0he explained.’<\/p>\n

While giving the vote of thanks, the Permanent\u00a0Secretary, Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Mr Ademola Ajibola commended the people for the confidence reposed in the present administration.<\/p>\n

According to him, with OYHOC, all bottlenecks that usually\u00a0lead to delay of processing certificates of occupancy has been eliminated.<\/p>\n

Speaking on behalf of the applicants, Reverend Benson Omole\u00a0lauded the initiative which according to them has made life easier for home owners.<\/p>\n

It will be recalled that last month,\u00a0the Oyo\u00a0State Governor,\u00a0Engineer Seyi Makinde launched the home owners charter electronic C of O to enable home owners regularized their land documents as part of efforts to lessen the pains of the current economic downturn.<\/p>\n
